Floor Is Lava Survival Guide: Tile Hopping, Perimeter Running & Corner Stalling

Published · Updated · 1 min read

In disappearing-tile survival finals, panic is your worst enemy. Players who sprint across tiles deplete safe ground too fast. The secret to claiming the crown is methodical pacing.

1. The One-Tile Hop Technique

Instead of continuously running across hexagons, gently jump from tile to tile with half-second pauses. Each tile can support your runner for nearly a full second before vanishing, effectively tripling your survival time.

2. Looking Down at the Next Layer

Never wait until your current platform dissolves to decide where to drop. Look through gaps to the layer below and align your fall with large intact tile islands.

3. Cutting Off Rival Escape Paths

If you see a rival player hopping towards your sector, sprint ahead to carve a two-tile chasm between you. Trapped with no tiles to jump to, they will plummet into the void while you retain the remaining platform.
